Village, OH --- Heather Cullata from
Uniontown, Ohio will be representing Roseland
Lanes with her superb singing voice in Las Vegas,

Contest 3 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania on May 12.
Heather along with Regina Lesley from Maple Heights,
Ohio competed with other finalist from Ohio, Kentucky,
PA & Indiana. |

The competition started in February at local bowling
centers throughout the nation. Week after week, singers
would try out for their spot at the regional level.
Heather will fly to Las Vegas and compete against twelve
other competitors at the Bowling Proprietors’
Association of America (BPAA) International Bowl Expo
on June 25th. Of that twelve, one will be the $5,000
winner and rein the Karaoke Superstar title. That person
will also be the opening act for Grammy winning artist
LeAnn Rimes on Thursday, June 28th. While in Vegas,
the winner will have a recording session with Remedy
Records.
This competition, formally called the National Bowling
Karaoke Idol Contest, is sponsored by The Lighting and
Karaoke Store in Everett, Washington and The Bowling
Proprietors Association of America.
“We are so excited for Heather that she will represent
Roseland Lanes in the national competition. She is a
young adult with a dynamic voice. I am so proud to have
so many talented singers come to our center to compete.
With the contest being in its third year, how fortunate
we are to have three regional finalists represent us
at the nationals for three consecutive years. That says
a lot for our judges.” says Roseland Lanes Manager,
Anna Marie Slaby.
In June 2005, the then 16 year old Heather Cullata represented
Roseland Lanes at the National Bowling Karaoke Idol
Contest in Orlando, Florida. Heather won the second
place trophy and $2,500.00 after a great performance.
Over 32,000 singers nationwide were involved in the
2005 contest.
In 2006, over 40,000 nationwide were involved in the
competition. Virginia Williams who lives in Charlotte,
NC., came to Ohio, after finding the competition on
our web page, competed, and won our center finals. She
then won the regional championship and competed at the
national level representing Roseland Lanes. She flew
to Las Vegas where Williams was crowned the idol winner,
winning $5,000, a recording contract and studio time
with Remedy Records. She also appeared on stage for
the opening act for Kool & the Gang.
New this year, the national competition will be live
on www.karaokelivetv.com on June 25th at 7 pm Pacific
time. Anyone can vote for their favorite contestant.
“I’m sure if anyone from this region logs
on, they will all vote for Heather. She will be a hard
act to follow.” says Slaby.
Roseland Lanes has already committed to being a part
of the National Bowling Karaoke Superstar Contest 4.
Beginning in January 2008, singers can compete on Saturday
evenings in Pete’s Pub at the Lanes.
